The 4. revised edition of Fern CD ROM contains 824 descriptions and more than 4104 fern photos (Copyright by Roswitha Moeller). All descriptions contains one photograph at least. Screen resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher (at lower resolution you have to scroll to navigate through the pages) The Fern CD is written in HTML format.

From the main page you can call all pages. If you use the alphabetical overview, you can choose the latin fern name via the first letter. Via the search function, you can look after genus, species, varieties, english names, families, descent (native to) and the typical features of pinnation and rhizomes, also parts of words are supported. Additional you find basic information about ferns and about the development of ferns (including pictures).

If you want to have a look at the description of a specific fern just click on the name. On the search page, click on the name and a pop-up will be opened were you will find more detailed information about this fern and photos.With the navigation buttons (left hand side below) you can easy run through the descriptions. If you would like to look at the pictures only you will find all 4046 images in the photograph album in both thumbnail and standard size for your convenience. You find a table of contents including synonyms here.
